Heart of Stone Movie Review by Anupama Chopra | Film Companion
When you see a movie with a cast like Alia Bhatt and Gal Gadot, you expect nothing short of a thrilling and adrenaline-packed ride. But Heart of Stone, directed by Tom Harper, falls short of expectations due to its generic writing.
The movie features Alia Bhatt as the baddie, and it’s thrilling to watch a Bollywood A-lister go up against Wonder Woman herself. The film is full of strong, smart, and sexy women kicking butt onscreen, which is one of my keenest pleasures.
However, Heart of Stone fails to live up to its vast potential due to its generic writing. The plot is predictable, and the characters lack depth. The action sequences are well-executed, but they lack emotional impact, leaving the audience feeling underwhelmed.
Despite this, it’s fantastic to see Hollywood cast an Indian actress as the villain in such a big-budget spy movie. Alia Bhatt delivers an impressive performance, showcasing her versatility as an actress.
Overall, Heart of Stone has its moments, but it falls short of being a truly great action flick. However, it’s still worth watching for Alia Bhatt’s performance and the chance to see strong women take center stage.
